The Polk County Sheriff’s Office released arrest information this week on a drug bust that occurred in Tryon’s Eastside neighborhood on Jan. 17.

Gary Lee Thomas, 31, of 27 Fred Lyles Circle, Tryon, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and two counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), according to sheriff’s office records.

 

The arrest was made through a joint operation between the sheriff’s office and the Tryon Police Department ,with assistance from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, which helped with the execution of a search warrant.

Thomas is still being held at the Polk County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
