Slow Food Foothills a.k.a. Slow Polk meets Feb. 12

Slow Food Foothills (a.k.a. Slow Polk) will hold its third meeting Sunday, Feb . 12 at 4:30 p.m. at the new Manna Cabanna production kitchen, 835 N. Trade Street in Tryon (the former Brother Bill’s Barbeque, just above Open Road Coffee House).
Participants will learn about Manna Cabanna’s new shared use incubator kitchen and meet Carol Lynn Jackson, owner of Manna Cabanna Local and Organic Food Market in Saluda.
The new Slow Food Foothills officers will be introduced, and developing committee projects will be discussed. Bring a potluck dish, and, if interested, donate a bottle of wine or a few beers to the gathering. Please bring your own plate and silverware to help cut down on waste.

Slow Food Foothills is a subchapter of Slow Food Asheville and a “convivium” of the international Slow Food movement.  The local groups are called “convivia” because they bring together, in a convivial and enjoyable way, people who love food and traditions. The group promotes and preserves the food culture of the region through the relationships between farmers, the table, families and the community.
