“New Realities: The Global Economy” will be held at the Tryon Depot at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 17. Sponsored and hosted by Millard & Company, the event is the second in the New Realities series. The first event, held in August, focused on the real estate industry.
Topics for the Jan. 17 event will include changes in the world economy, the rise of China, challenges and opportunities in western North Carolina and what to expect going forward. The discussion will feature a diverse panel of business experts:
• Economist Dr. Jody Lipford, Presbyterian College professor of economics and business administration
• Scott Hamilton, CEO of Advantage West, Western North Carolina’s regional economic development commission
• Bob Quattlebaum, former VP of the Cryovac Global Laminates Business, with operations in North and South America, Europe and Asia, and current head of Hooper Creek Associates
• Andy Millard of Millard & Company, moderator
