Polk Central builds trail shelter with grant funds

Polk Central School received a grant from the N.C. Foundation for Soil and Water Conservation (Walmart grant) to build a trail shelter. Polk County High School students in Lane Burrow’s technology construction class have started on construction, using cedar posts donated by Jerry Nelon Construction. The concrete pad was donated by Weicker Brothers Concrete. (article submitted by Andrea Walter)
