The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested an area man last week for felony possession of marijuana and possession of illegal prescription medication.

Robert Lewis Simpson Jr. of 185 Abrams Moore Road, Rutherfordton, N.C. was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to sheriff’s office reports.
Polk County Sheriff Donald Hill said Simpson was arrested following a traffic stop in Green Creek on Dec. 31.
Simpson was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
