Sunny View Elementary collects more than 850 items in food drive

This year, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade classes at Sunny View Elementary School participated in the annual school-wide food drive. The school collected more than 850 non-perishable items were collected and donated to the Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry’s food pantry. According to school officials, everyone had a great time and the friendly competition between classes made collecting fun. Mr. Cash’s third grade class won the contest of collecting the most items. Responsibility and caring for others was Sunny View Elementary’s focus for November in the school’s character education program. Teaching students to care for and be kind to others is essential education for children to become happy, responsible adults, Sunny View Elementary officials said. (photo submitted by Ginger Turner)
