Plans are under way for the annual Charlie Ward Memorial Pig Out scheduled for Sept. 10 from 4 – 7 p.m. Donations and volunteers are needed. If you are interested or want to contribute, contact Judy Ward at 828-749-1349 or judyward@charter.net.
This town BBQ was started by Charlie Ward many years ago to thank residents of Saluda for patronizing his store. Ward passed away Aug. 8, 2008.
This event has become a town tradition organized and funded by Saluda citizens for Saluda citizens. It has become a symbol of Charlie’s gift of giving.
