Wolverines down Mountaineers

The Polk County High School Wolverines downed the Tuscola Mountaineers 38 to 22 at PCHS stadium Friday night.

Quarterback Alec Philpott had 14 rushes on the night for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Philpott was completed eight of 15 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns.

Rushing leaders were Cary Littlejohn with 11 carries and 115 yards for one touchdown. Jay Sutton had four carries for 37 yards receiving, Joel Booker had four receptions with 91 yards and two touchdowns, while Littlejohn had four catches for 44 yards.

In the first quarter PCHS went up six to zero and added the same in the second quarter, while the Mountaineers remained scoreless. By the third quarter the Wolverines bumped the score up 26 to 8, before allowing Tuscola to add 14 points in the fourth quarter.
