Outreach needs potato pickers

Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry (TBOM) needs volunteers to help with a project on Saturday, Aug. 13, starting at 7 a.m.
This would be a great opportunity for families, church groups or neighbors to gather together to contribute to a worthy cause, TBOM organizers said. TBOM is looking for individuals and groups to help gather harvested potatoes from the field behind the Hospice Store in Landrum. These potatoes will be donated to TBOM’s food pantry and distributed to those in need.
During the past year, TBOM said it has seen a dramatic increase in need for services.
If you are willing to volunteer, call Wendy Thomas at 828-894-2988 or by email at tbompolk1@windstream.net to confirm attendance.
