TWGA news – Jane Templeton, Bonnie Sakos and Parky Flanagan grabbed the first round lead in their respective flights in the 2011 TWGA President’s Bowl. Templeton had a round of 86 for a net score of 67 to take the lead in the 18-hole flight. In the 9-hole “A” flight, Bonnie Sakos posted a 46 for a net 31. In the 9-hole “B” flight, Parky Flanagan finished with a net 32 to take the lead. The event will conclude next Tuesday, May 17.
Memorial Day Mixed Scramble – The Memorial Day Mixed Scramble and Bar-B-Q will be held on Monday, May 30 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start followed by the Bar-B-Q at noon. Registration for the golf tournament begins two weeks in advance of the event (Monday, May 16) you do not have to play in the event in order to attend the Bar-B-Q.
Member-Member – The 2011 Member-Member is set for this weekend, May 14 and 15 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start each day. The course should open for non-tournament play around 1:30 p.m. each day.
Guys and Dolls – The spring Guys and Dolls (TWGA vs. TMGA) is set for Thursday, May 19 at 3 p.m. The TMGA is the host for this event. Call the pro shop to register.
Will Ballard, PCHS freshman, was one of three “2A” players from the region to qualify for the N.C. high school state tournament in Pinehurst. Ballard had scores of 77 – 84 at Longleaf Country Club. Ballard is the son of Marc and Tonya Ballard and the grandson of Joyce and Hub Arledge, all members of TCC.
