Brevard Music Center faculty trio to perform Feb. 27

Hendersonville Chamber Music is inaugurating its 2011 season by presenting three of Brevard Music Center’s most accomplished performers, Bruce Murray, artistic administrator and dean, on piano; Jason Posnock, associate artistic administrator, violin and Dilshad Posnock on flute.

Bruce Murray has played chamber music and recitals with many musicians of our time, including Roberto Diaz, William Preucil, Elmar Oliveira, Ransom Wilson, Andres Cardenes, Andres Diaz, Frederica von Stade and Miles Hoffman.

Violinist Jason Posnock has performed regularly with the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestras and coached the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony and Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic

Flutist Dilshad Posnock has been featured on BBC TV and BBC World Service Radio, performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Ballet and Opera and served as artist lecturer in flute, and director of the Artist Diploma Program at Carnegie Mellon.

Future Hendersonville Chamber concerts call for the EastWind Wind Quintet, in residence at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro on March 20; the NGU piano quartet, in residence at North Greenville University on April 17; the Bill Gerhardt Jazz Trio with vocalist Sharon LaMotte on May 1 and the Kontras String Quartet, winners of the Western Piedmont residency competition, on May 22.

Hendersonville Chamber Music Concerts take place at the First Congregational Church on the corner of Fifth Avenue and White Pine in Hendersonville. Performances are on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m.

Subscriptions for all five concerts are available by mailing a check or money order payable to HFCM to Hendersonville Chamber Music, P.O. Box 271 Hendersonville, N.C. 28793.

Both series and individual tickets can be purchased at Hendersonville Visitors Center with a modest per ticket surcharge and at the door on day of performance. Subscription holders can use their five subscription tickets for any or all performances.
