Bertie Mae Hooks Feagin

Mrs. Bertie Mae Hooks Feagin, 89, of Columbus, Ga., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at Covenant Woods Retirement Community.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Ga. 31907, with Dr. Frank Parr and Reverend Steve Croft officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Feagin was born July 8, 1921 in Metter, Ga., daughter of the late James I, and Effie Griffin Hooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Feagin was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Feagin.

Survivors include two sons; Alan W. Feagin and his wife, Courtney, of Ellerslie, Ga., and Kenneth C. Feagin of Landrum; two grandchildren; Ashleigh Feagin and Spencer Feagin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wynnton United Methodist Church, 2412 Wynnton Road, Columbus, Ga. 31906.
