John Landrum ‘J.L.’ Jackson

John Landrum “J.L.” Jackson, 68, of Mill Spring passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 13, 2011 in the Hospice House, Forest City, N.C.
Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late William and Annie Wilson Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a farmer. Mr. Jackson was a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring.
Surviving are: two daughters, Angela Jackson of Sunny View and Johnna J. Searcy (Benjamin) of Green Creek; three brothers, Clarence Jackson (Marty) of Arizona, Charles Jackson of Oregon and Billy Jackson of Marion, N.C.; a sister, Kathleen Maney of Rutherfordton, N.C. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ethan and Jackson Price and Brennon Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring, with Rev. Warren Elliott and Rev. David Turner officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by the Polk County Burial Squad and Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
