Polk County High School basketball teams played Owen High School Wednesday, Feb. 9, on Polk’s senior night. JV women won 67-25. JV men were tied with one second to play and Owen made a three-point shot to win 56-53. Polk’s varsity women won 44-39 and varsity men won 60-49. Top varsity woman scorer was Brittany Phipps, followed by Melinda Morgan, Kailey Russell, Cassidy Mazzilli, Jamie Hrokbak, Savannah Deaver, Shalyn Brown and Alyssa Montgomery. Top scorer for varsity men was Shawn Gary, followed by Andre Overholt, Sam Vining, Stephen Staley, Markece Cunningham, Joel Booker, Ryan Thomas, Chandler Miller, Roberto Taft and Fidal Wilkins.
