Mary Jane “Jo” Christopher of Simms St., Columbus died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Perry Earl and Emmie Jane Farrow Owens. Jo was a member of Columbus Baptist Church. She was the wife of James E. Christopher, who died in 2004.

Surviving is one son, Steve Christopher of Columbus; one sister, Lois Springfield of Greer, S.C. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Kia Christopher. She was preceded in death by a son, Capt. James Keith Christopher.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus with Rev. Robert Capps officiating.
