Master gardener to speak at TFAC Feb. 10

Master gardener Jeanine Gauen will be speaking on “groundcovers for the Foothills” at the Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 1:30 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Anyone interested in learning about the rich diversity of groundcovers that thrive in the local climate is encouraged to attend.

Gauen, who owns the Garden Patch Nursery in Columbus, along with her husband, is well versed in the native plant materials of the area and will be available for questions following the lecture.

The event is sponsored by the Green Blades Garden, a non-profit organization in Tryon dedicated to promoting gardening in all its aspects. In addition to its many lectures and field trips, the club conducts a variety of civic programs each year, many centered around the beautification, conservation and education of the area’s natural resources.
