Polk wrestling bests Thomas Jefferson 72-9

Polk County High School faced Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on the wrestling mat Jan. 7 and won 72 – 9. The pins were made by Jose Ramirez, Silvestre Ramirez, Kameron Painter, Caleb Russell, John Modlin, Tyler Keller, J.J. Maxwell and Jairo Nevarez. Default wins were made by Coby Painter, Juan Vera, Sean Corcoran and Tyler Philpott.
PCHS has a record of 14-4 for the season. The team’s next home match will be Jan. 14. Polk’s head wrestling coach is Brandon Schweitzer and assistant coach is Russell Wilson.
