Landrum could soon have a place to hold outdoor community concerts and other events.

The City of Landrum has received a $9,000 grant from the Polk County Community Foundation Mary F. Kessler Fund to be used to assist in the cost of constructing a covered platform, which will act as a stage for community events. This platform is planned to be placed on the Landrum railroad depot site.

Landrum also plans to rehabilitate the depot building itself and will design the covered platform to be an integral part of its final design.
