Can you imagine life before the advent of electrification and how it affected everyday living?&bsp; R. Anderson (Andy) Haynes will draw on family and historical archives for this talk titled The Power of Tryon presented on Monday, November 22 at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Tryon Presbyterian Church on Harmon Field Road.

Haynes was born and raised in Tryon. He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and from UNC Law School. He practices law in Tryon, concentrating in estate planning and administration and real estate.

Haynes has been very involved in the civic, charitable and cultural life of the community. He has been active in Rotary, TFAC, Lanier Library, Tryon Riding and Hunt Club, St Lukes Hospital and FENCE. He was instrumental in helping to launch the Polk County Community Foundation and served as counsel, secretary, director and several terms as president.

Haynes and his wife, Linda, live in Tryon.
