New Orleans Hot 8 Brass Band to perform at TFAC November 19

New Orleans own Hot 8 Brass Band will be making its dbut appearance at the Tryon Fine Arts Center on Friday, November 19 at 8 p.m. to present the street sounds of New Orleans Jazz. Presented by the Kirby Endowment Fund and Harper Corporation, General Contractors, this band will offer the sounds, funk and energy that make New Orleans music loved and well-known around the world.

The Hot 8 Brass Band has been filling the ears of listeners for more than a decade, touring in Italy, Japan, England, Spain, France and Finland. Also featured in Spike Lees HBO documentaries of Hurricane Katrina, When the Levees Broke and If God be Willing and Da Creek Dont Rise, they have been advocates of the relief efforts along the Gulf Cost.

Founded in 1995, these New Orleans natives began their career performing in Second Line parades hosted by a Social Aid and Pleasure Club. It was after the disaster of Hurricane Katrina when the Hot 8 Brass Brand gained its international fame.
