As fall is upon us the holiday season isnt far behind. Plans are already under way for the annual Polk County Toy Run, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 27. The Polk County Sheriffs Department is requesting the communitys help to ensure the event is a success.

The Toy Run helps provide toys for children who otherwise may not receive toys this holiday season. The sheriffs department hosts this event and works in conjunction with other local agencies to make sure all children have a joyous holiday.

Toy donations can be dropped off at the sheriffs office. The office will keep the public informed as sites are added to receive these donations.

Monetary donations also are greatly appreciated. This year they are attempting to gain 100 sponsors for the event. Organizers say this is a lofty goal for them as they have only sought half that number of sponsorships in the past. With the communitys help, they hope that they will reach their goal and thus be able to help even more children.
