Dwight Jay Hahn, 60, of Roxie Drive, Saluda, NC died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late Jack and Frances Artrip Hahn.&bsp; He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Medical Corp during Vietnam.&bsp; He retired as a captain from the Dayton, OH Fire Department serving from 1978 to 2003.&bsp; Upon retirement Jay relocated to Saluda, NC where he was very active in the Saluda Center.&bsp; He was devoted to helping others through his numerous community and personal activities.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Debbie DeWeese Hahn; two daughters, Krista Meekins (Sean) of Florence, SC and Ericka Hahn of Dayton, OH; a grandson, Tanner Jay Meekins and a granddaughter, Adalyn Jay Kennedy due September 18, 2010; a brother, Greg Hahn (Susie) of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Carin Baxley (Barry) of Round Hill, VA; Kim Wilkinson and Holly Turner both of Scottsdale, AZ.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Rob Parsons officiating.

The family will receive friends just prior to the service on Wednesday beginning at 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
