The Rutherford County Animal Shelter is set to close temporarily from Friday through Sept. 13 for maintenance, according to a report in the Asheville Citizen Times Thursday.
Shelter officials report that about 70 animals are still at the shelter. If the shelter cannot find homes for the pets by the end of the business day Friday, they will be euthanized.
The shelter is located at 578 Laurel Hill Drive in Rutherfordton. If you need assistance regarding the animals that are in the shelter or the ones that are up for adoption call the Community Pet Center volunteer office at 287-7738 after noon.
