Polk district court results

July 28 session
In Polk County District Court held on July 28, 2010 with Judge Thomas M. Brittain presiding, 151 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Elaine Walker Cureton was convicted of driving while impaired. Cureton was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Jessica Leigh Dalton was convicted of driving while impaired and possession of marijuana up to ounce. Dalton was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, seven days in jail, a $400 fine and court costs for driving while impaired and 18 months supervised probation and court costs for possession of marijuana up to ounce.
David Alan Hackelberg was convicted of resisting a public officer and assaulting a government official/employee. Hackelberg was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for time served.
Tino Hernandez-Urbano was convicted of driving while impaired. Hernandez-Urbano was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.
Hong Seo Koo was convicted of speeding 90 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h. zone. Koo was fined $84 and court costs.
Robert Vance McCraw was convicted of breaking or entering. McCraw was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for time served.
Kenneth Bert Pierce Jr. was convicted of driving while impaired. Pierce was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Johnnie Christopher Taylor was convicted of five counts of breaking and entering and larceny. Taylor was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served.
July 30 session
In Polk County District Court held on July 30, 2010 with Judge David K. Fox presiding, 117 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Lorissa Marie Berry was convicted of a misdemeanor probation violation. Berrys probation was terminated.
Lorissa Marie Berry was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ounce. Berry was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
Juan Ramos Gaspar was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operators license. Gaspar was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Andrew B. Hamilton was convicted of three counts of misdemeanor probation violation. Hamiltons probation was revoked with credit given for 56 days already served.
Sophie Lane Marks was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operators license and an expired registration card/tag. Marks was fined $100 and court costs.
Carole E. Ormand was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operators license. Ormand was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Alicia Renee Price was convicted of carrying a concealed gun. Price was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Robert Dean Scanlon was convicted of driving while impaired. Scanlon was sentenced to three years supervised probation, eight days in jail, a $400 fine and court costs.
Gloria Jan Underwood was convicted of driving while impaired. Underwood was sentenced to two years unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.
August 4 session
In Polk County Distict Court held on Aug. 4, 2010 with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 99 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Shannon Douglas Cronan was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ounce. Cronan was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
Joshua David Hall was convicted of three counts of injury to real property, breaking and/or entering and larceny. Hall was sentenced to four years supervised probation and court costs.
Gerardo V. Hernandez was convicted of driving while license revoked, reckless driving to endanger and driving while impaired. Hernandez was sentenced to one year supervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs for driving while license revoked and reckless driving and one year supervised probation, 10 days in jail, a $200 fine and court costs for driving while impaired.
Natasha Stott Holt was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Holt was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $224 fine and court costs.
James E. Howard was convicted of failure to stop-steady red light. Howard was sentenced to pay court costs.
Tony Clint Jackson was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $75 fine and court costs.
Thomas Judson Johnson was convicted of driving while impaired. Johnson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
Jeffrey John Poague was convicted of driving while impaired. Poague was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
David Dustin Sprinkle was convicted of open container after consumption of alcohol first and driving while impaired. Sprinkle was to pay court costs for open container and one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine, $600 in restitution and court costs.
Stephen Doughlas Webb was convicted of driving while impaired and driving while license revoked. Webb was sentenced to 12 months at the N.C. Department of Corrections with 130 days of credit for time served.
Roy Leonard White was convicted of obtaining property under false pretenses. White was sentenced to two years supervised probation and court costs.
