Karen Williams has been officially reprimanded by the N.C. Real Estate Commission, after a hearing June 9, according to a press release from the commission issued this week.

Williams is a real estate broker holding license number 176594.

In October, 2009, Williams, 58, pled guilty in Polk County court to possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. Williams was sentenced to 45 days in jail with the sentence suspended on the condition that she complete one year unsupervised probation, and pay a $100 fine and court costs.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office had reported that Williams and her roommate, Debra Constance, were arrested following the interception of a mail delivery from California to Spartanburg County that contained a package with two ounces of hashish. The package was addressed to Williams at the women’s address, 64 Creekside Lane, Tryon.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Debra Constance, the 2008 Teacher of the Year for Polk County Schools, was at the home when the package was delivered and signed for it, but she was not aware of what was in the package. Charges against Constance were dropped.
