The Lady Wolverines softball team traveled to play the top ranked Forbush Falcons on Tuesday in the first round of the 2A playoffs and lost 6-0.
“(The Lady Falcons) are traditionally a good team and are considered one of the big three in the state,” said Polk coach Jeff Wilson.
Forbush scored one run in the third and another in the fourth to go ahead early.
Polk got three hits and loaded the bases in the top of the fifth inning, but the Falcons made a play to stop the Lady Wolverines rally. From there, the Lady Falcons made it difficult for the Lady Wolverines to get anything going. Forbush, 21-4, finished with six runs off seven hits.
The Lady Wolverines finished the season 18-7.
“Its never a good time to lose,” said coach Wilson, “and these girls responded to a variety of situations during this season and Im proud of each one of my players.”
