The Lady Wolverines 2010 soccer season came to a close last week when they ran into unbeaten Forbush in the third round of the 2A state playoffs. Polk County was defeated 5-0 by the No. 1 seed from the Mountain Valley Conference. Forbush went on to face West Stokes, which it also held scoreless in a 4-0 fourth round victory. Forbush will enter the Regionals round with a 25-0 record. Polk County also was a No. 1 seed in the state playoffs and finished the season with a 15-9 record. It was the Lady Wolverines first year at the 2A level after moving up last year from 1A, where Polk was one of the top teams in the state.
