For summer reading fun, this is the perfect time to stock up on family reading material at the Friends of the Library Book Sale.&bsp; The sale will be in the Community Room of Polk County Public Library on Friday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Videos and other media items are also available for adults and children.

Friends of the Library (FOL) members are invited to a reception Thursday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. on the reading deck of the library. If you are not a member of the FOL and would like to join, you may join at the reception. Members may purchase items from the sale as well at this time.

The events on Thursday afternoon represent a small thank you to library members for their support of the goals and activities of the FOL and the Polk County Library.

All proceeds from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Library to carry out projects such as purchasing furniture and plants for the reading deck and planning free programs and speakers of general interest for the community to support the local library.
