Lady Wolverines outplay Mtn. Heritage for 6-1 win

Jamie Hrobak had another strong outing for the Lady Wolverines on Tuesday, throwing a one-hitter against Mountain Heritage to lead Polk to a 6-1 win.
Hrobak struck out 14 in seven innings on the mound. Mountain Heritage didnt get on the board until the sixth inning.
Hrobak also had a big game at the plate, finishing with three hits, including a double and triple. She scored two runs.
Shalyn Brown added another spark offensively for the Lady Wolverines with a hit, a walk and three stolen bases.
The Wolverines grabbed control of the game quickly, scoring four runnings in the top of the first inning. Polk improved to 12-4 overall and 6-3 in the Western Highlands Conference.
The win came after a 5-3 defeat against Madison on Friday. Polk outhit Madison 10-8, but had two more errors. Hrobak gave up eight hits and five runs. Polk got two hits each from Hrobak, Alyssa Montgomery and Cassie Couch.
The Lady Wolverines were scheduled to play at Swain yesterday. Results were not available at press time.
