Payton Kayleb Yoder, 12, of Green Creek passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home.

Born in Greenville, Pa., he was the son of Kenneth and Jenifer Sickman Yoder of Green Creek. He was a sixth grade student at Polk County Middle School and a member of the Watsons Flooring and Appliance Little League Team wearing #9, where he was a pitcher and played right field. Payton was a member of Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren. &bsp;

Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Travis Yoder of Montreat College, Montreat, N.C.; paternal grandmother, Freeda Yoder of Holmes County, Ohio; maternal grandparents, William Sickman of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Edna Sickman of Townville, Pa. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leroy Yoder.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren, Green Creek, with Rev. Earl Byers officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.
