Bulow B. Whitson

Bulow B. Whitson, 82, of Mill Spring went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in the Hospice House, Forest City, N.C. after a long illness.

Born in Yancey County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Baxter Wilson and Leatha Adkins Wilson and widow of Woodrow Whitson, who died in 1997. Mrs. Whitson retired from Stonecutter Mills in Mill Spring after 15 years of service. She was a member of Coopers Gap Baptist Church in Mill Spring.

Surviving is one son, Leonard Whitson of Mill Spring; three daughters, Nina Whitson of Chesnee, S.C., Eva Tipton and Mary Jane Whitson, both of Mill Spring; one brother, Scott Wilson of Mill Spring. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church, Mill Spring, with Rev. Warren Elliott and Pastor Trent Watson officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be at the home of a daughter, Eva Tipton, 900 Rock Springs Road, Mill Spring, where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Whitsons body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
