This Friday, April 16, at 7 p.m. Phil and Gaye Johnson take the stage at Isothermal Community Colleges Polk Campus for an evening of acoustic music. Songwriters and storytellers, Phil and Gaye play a blend of traditional and contemporary folk, bluegrass and country music along with generous portions of western swing, cowboy, blues, and old-time traditions.

Three time winners of the most outstanding performance award at The Asheville Mountain Dance and Folk Festival, they have been praised by Betty R. McCain, former secretary of the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources as some of North Carolinas greatest cultural resources.

They have released five recordings on the ASTER label, and have published a series of instructional books and videos. Phil and Gaye have appeared on Garrison Keilors A Prairie Home Companion and are the hosts of The KingPup Radio Show a Small Time Opry radio program recorded at theaters, listening rooms, and festival stages across the Carolinas.
