Tryon…my small town

To the Editor:
Winter in a small town, folks gather on the walk
the lights are not burning but round the fire theres talk
a smile exchanged as I move on my way
The eye of a stranger beckons me to stay
Spring in a small town, as we come rambling in
to a place that is beautiful that no one lives in
I sit on my porch with my eyes to the hills
in wonder and contentment my heart becomes still
Summer in a small town, bar-b-que in the air
Folks are so pleasant the kids without care
Outdoor concerts and firework displays
stars out at night and fireflies at play
Fall in a small town brings a tear to my eye
my happiness, Ive found, is a leaf floating by
The colors so brilliant the vistas so clear
Recalls my first visit to this place I hold dear.
My town is Tryon its your town too
where folks work together to try and make do
Im here now forever till the Lord I be seein
Im settled and happy theres no way Im leavin
