John Cash of Landrum plans to make 10 trips up and down the Saluda Grade on Hwy. 176 on his bicycle on April 10 for the second annual Climb to Conquer Cancer. Cash, who started the event last year, plans to give the money raised from the event to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The event will take place from the Tryon Youth Center beginning at 9 a.m. on April 10. A silent auction is planned between 3 and 4 p.m. at the youth center. Items included in the auction are sports memorabilia, original artwork and more. All donations are tax deductible. The Tryon Youth Center will provide pizza during and after the ride. For additional information contact John Cash at Natures Storehouse at 828-859-6356 or naturesstore@windstream.net. Cash invites anyone to join the climb for one trip or all 10, which will be a total of 84 miles.
