Photography business open; Cafe serving evening meals

10 North Trade Cafe Bakery began serving during new evening hours March 23. The Cafe is now open every Tuesday and Thursday until 8 p.m. offering items from the Cafe breakfast and lunch menus, as well as daily specials, desserts and pastries and a different flavored iced tea every day.

Doug Dickerson has begun a new photography business in Tryon, Doug Dickerson Photography.
“My goal is not only to provide excellent photography services, but also to ensure that you have a very positive, enjoyable photography experience,” Dickerson says. Although my degree is in Commercial Photography, I also have experience doing portraits, sporting events, and weddings, as well as various product shoots, including furniture, buildings, and food for various publication and website use.”
Dickerson grew up in the Piedmont area of North Carolina, and says he is now enjoying being a new resident of the N.C. mountains in Tryon.
“Talk about photograph opportunities,” he says. “There are plenty in these mountains! The scenery of these mountains and the friendliness of the residents touches a special place in my heart.”

Eclectic Collectives, a local womens cooperative, has opened in Tryon at the Old Mill Market Square, Hwy 176, booth 613. At this booth you will find one of a kind items, custom jewelry, sweet treats, Tallyho Fudge, and new lines of equestrian tees, as well as other horsie items. Eclectic Collectives is open Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tractor Supply Co., the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the United States, has announced it will offer shoppers the opportunity to support 4-H youth programs through $1 donations at the register. In exchange, customers will receive paper clovers to sign and post in store windows. The program is scheduled to run from March 26 April 18 at area Tractor Supply stores.
Local Tractor Supply stores can be found in Spindale, Hendersonville, Greer and Spartanburg.
“Many of our stores have been involved with 4-H clubs for years. Now, Tractor Supply Company is proud to have an official chain-wide relationship with 4-H,” said Tractor Supply Co. Chairman and CEO Jim Wright. “For us, this is an outstanding way to support our current and future customers and future team members, and its a way to give back to the 900-plus unique communities we serve.”
Donations will help fund local, state and national 4-H programs that support the organizations three mission mandates citizenship, healthy living, and educational advancements in the areas of science, engineering and technology. 4-H is a community of six million young Americans and has been in existence since the start of the 20th century. 4-H programs are designed to provide practical, hands-on learning opportunities to assist youth in reaching their full potential.

Regional business news: Harrahs Cherokee Casino & Hotel has unveiled plans for a new 3,000-seat Events Center, with opening celebrations scheduled for Labor Day Weekend 2010.
Hosting top-tier talent across all genres, including Country, Comedy, and Rock, as well as sporting events and production shows, the non-smoking Events Center will have three levels.
Among plans for the Events Center are four VIP suites, box seating and more than 1,000 balcony seats. Modular seating will be used for conventions, sports programming, catering and special events with access to a full banquet kitchen.
Concession areas will be located on all floors, and LCD screens will be strategically placed throughout the pre-function area.
The Events Center stage will be 60-foot by 40-foot and framed by large 32-foot screens with HD resolution. The facility will boast a top-of-the-line D&B J Series Line array speaker system. The Events Center will also have the highest quality theatrical lighting available including a MA Lighting Grand MA2 console and Martin Intelligent lighting instruments.
