The last of three films about Southern folk art will be shown at the Upstairs Artspace on Tuesday, March 30, at 7 p.m.

All Rendered Truth documents the art, voices and home environments of self-taught artists in the rural American South. In honest and lively interviews, more than 20 renowned folk artists talk about race, religion and the world.

This is a must movie for people who appreciate folk art and want to know more about a disappearing culture. The artists include Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Mose Tolliver, Bernice Sims, Lonnie Holley, R. A. Miller, J. T. (Jake) McCord and Lorenzo Scott. Each is exhibiting in the gallerys current folk art show, Looking Back, Walking Forward.

Following the film, exhibit curator Ted Oliver will speak briefly about the future of folk art, especially in light of the fact that many of the legendary artists are elderly or deceased. All Rendered Truth runs 57 minutes; the DVD is available for purchase. Call 828-859-2828 for information.
