Lula M. Burrell of Tryon is one of nine educators chosen for induction in to the Henderson County Education Foundation Hall of Fame for 2010. The induction ceremony will take place on April 22 at Hendersonville Country Club. Burrell worked for 20 years in Tryon, beginning in 1941. She went on to work 30 more years for Henderson County Schools, starting in the 1960s. Burrell, the Educational Office Person of the Year in North Carolina in 1990, is one of 28 charter members of the N.C. Association of Educational Office Professionals. She was the associations president in 1957-58.
