Herman Jackson

Charles Herman Jackson, 76, of 1055 Coopers Gap Road died March 4, 2010. He was son of the late Bob and Sallie Walker Jackson and husband of Joyce Flynn Jackson.
He was self employed in pulpwood bulldozing and attended Coopers Gap Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two foster daughters, Patty Crabtree of Mooresville, N.C., and Minnie Mathis of Franklin, N.C.; a brother, Hoyle Jackson of Mill Spring; three sisters, Reba Doty of Cleveland, Ala., Doris Holbert of Tryon and Bobbie Jo Hendrix of Pooler, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Kathleen Bollinger, Dale Foster, Geraldine Kelly, Mary Ellen “Honey” Davis and Martha Jane “Koochie” Owensby.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. David Turner, Rev. John Godfrey and Rev. Bob Philbeck. Burial was in the church cemetery with military honors.
