Tryon Town Council agreed on Tuesday to pledge $1,000 to the Blue Ridge Barbecue Festivals rainy day fund for this year. Town council also agreed to look for other donations of services it may be able to provide for this years festival. Foothills Chamber of Commerce Chair Andy Millard attended the meeting and said Tryons rainy day fund contribution puts the fund up to $85,000. The chamber was seeking $75,000 in order to agree to hold the festival this June.
