Fred Laughter, 78, of Hendersonville, N.C., went to be in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home after an extended illness.
He was a native of Polk County and lived in Henderson County since 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wylie and Janie Edwards Laughter, a daughter, Anita Louise Laughter, siblings, Ralph and Wylie Laughter, Georgia Guice, Bessie Parris, Mary Jo Kelly and Jessie Newman.
He was of the Baptist faith, loved fishing, Nascar and making hot pepper.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Laughter of Flat Rock, N.C., and Michael Storm of Oklahoma; three sisters, Pauline Laughter of Hendersonville, N.C., Myrtle Stamey of Las Vegas, N.V., and Lois Case of Saluda; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his loving friend Dorothy Bott of Hendersonville, N.C., and two dogs, Buddy and Angel.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Balfour Baptist Church. with Rev. Travis Harrison, Rev. Chris Pace and Rev. Craig Garren officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church in Saluda. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Balfour Baptist Church and at other times will be at Freds home.
