Polk outplays Owen for 52-48 win

The Wolverines picked up a road win in Western Highlands Conference play when they outplayed Owen on Tuesday for a 52-48 victory.
Polk County had to come from behind for the win after trailing by 10 points after one quarter and two points at the half, 27-25.
The Wolverines moved into the lead after three quarters and held on the rest of the way. Andre Overholt led the Wolverines with 14 points. Parrish Gary had nine points, followed by Bryant Twitty with eight, Jeffery Bontrager with seven, Landon Schlabach with six and Chandler Miller and Fidal Wilkins with four points each.
It was the third straight win in the past week for the Wolverines after defeating conference opponents Avery and Thomas Jefferson.
Polk beat Avery 75-67 behind a well-balance scoring attack that included four players in double figures.
Overholt finished with 17 points, Twitty had 16, Schlabach had 15, including four 3-pointers, and Miller had 14.
The Wolverines dominated the third quarter, outscoring Avery 19-2 to pick up the home win on Saturday.
The day before Polk County hosted Thomas Jefferson and cruised to an 83-20 victory.
The Wolverines had 12 players score in the game, led by Schlabach with 15 and Stephen Staley with 14, including four 3-pointers.
Polk hosts Hendersonville at 8 p.m. tonight, following the womens game at 6:30 p.m.
