Not proofreading closely enough

Published 2:36 pm Thursday, January 7, 2010

To the Editor:

In my recent letter to the editor, I committed the cardinal sin of not proofreading closely enough. I did two scenarios about the amount of sales needed to raise funds. One of them was predicated on one hundred thousand dollars and the other was on one million dollars. The curse of the computer is that if you cut and paste and do not watch carefully you can end up with an error. That is what happened when I cut and pasted with reference to sales tax.The one hundred million should be one million dollars. I apologize for any confusion, and I accept my 50 lashes with a wet noodle. Boy, are my English students going to give down the country. I tell them daily to make sure that they have proofed everything. &bsp;
