Memorial services for Faye Haire Taylor, 81, will be held at a later date in Bruce, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd, Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin, Chapel is in charge.

Mrs. Taylor, a former resident of Tryon, was born January 10, 1928 in West, MS and passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009. She was a daughter of the late Rev. L.F. Haire and Addie B. Crocker Haire. Mrs. Taylor received a bachelor’s degree in art and education from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. She taught elementary school in Texas, Mississippi, Arizona, South Carolina and California. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, Guy F. Taylor of Chapin, S.C.; children, Laura T. Donnelly of Summerville, S.C., Carl Taylor of Lexington, S.C.; sister, Jean Hays of Monroe, La.; brother, Rev. Joel Haire of Crystal Springs, Ms., and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Voncille Tedrick.
