Polk Central third graders in Mrs. Sherrie Fords class recently presented a play entitled, Twas the Night the Toys Came to Life, for their fellow students and families.

The students combined elements from the poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas, by Clement Moore with elements from the Nutcracker and What Will the Toys Say. The music of Peter Tchaikovskys Nutcracker Suite was also used in the play.

The students have worked very hard on the play and I am so proud of the great effort and energy they have put into this production, says Ford, who adds that the students were involved in every aspect of the play including designing costumes, creating posters, the sets, memorizing lines and making numerous to-do lists to get the play ready for presentation.

Brandi Jackson, Candace Morrow, Barry Ford and John Jackson helped with the play.
