In October, Lance Smith, owner of Rivers Edge summer day camp, gave the Tryon Kiwanis Club members a report on the success of the past camps experiences. With a PowerPoint presentation, he showed the campers in their many activities – swimming, doing crafts, gardening, working with animals, and having fun. The camp has grown to include middle school age children. It is very popular with local children as well as those who come to spend time with their grandparents in the area. The Kiwanis Club provides two scholarships for campers each year. (photo submitted)
