Verena Mulderig, 79, of Warrior Mountain Road, Tryon died Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ora Hand. She moved to Tryon in 1993 from Mays Landing, N.J. Verena was an active member of the Tryon Keglers and she loved the great outdoors.

Surviving are: her partner, Howard Simonet of Tryon; a daughter, Meredith Kebaili (Heri) of Miami, Fla.; a son, James Mulderig (Dawn) of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Christopher, D.J., Kenza, Conner, Dereck, Nikki and Jason, and a brother, Mickey Hand (Dee ) of Chews Landing, N.J.

Services will be private.
