A resident of Twin Lanes Retirement off Lynn Road just outside Tryon became irate last week and pulled a knife on an employee, according to the Polk County Sheriffs Office.

Det. Tracy Aldridge with the Polk County Sheriffs Office says last Friday around 1 p.m. a patient became very agitated and didnt want to stay at the facility. The patient got a knife out of the kitchen and pulled it on a staff member.

No one was injured, but the building was evacuated Friday afternoon. The patient was transported to the hospital, where an involuntary committment was done.

No charges will be made in the incident, Aldridge reports.
