Employees are the heart and soul of St. Lukes Hospital

Times flies. Every year at this time, St. Lukes Hospital hosts a special service awards luncheon with a group of individuals who share a commitment to St. Lukes Hospital. These individuals have spent 5, 10, 15, 20 and 45 years working at St. Lukes. All keep coming to work because they love this hospital.

During St. Lukes Hospitals annual award luncheon held recently, 32 employees were recognized for their years of service. Receiving a Five-Year Award this year were Linda Bolin, Denise Burnett, Libby Carter, Michael Crocker, Carolyn Edney, Marie Edney, Ricky Garcia, Brent Greene, Dianne Haynes, Bill Hutchins, Joanie McDade, Holly Owens, Cynthia Pace, Christopher Page, Glenda Scarbrough, Corine Scoggins, David Shipp, Stephanie Sizemore, Dreama Tow, Lisa West, Amanda Whiteside and Kathy Woodham.

Recipients of the 10-Year Service Awards were Sheila Bolt, Crystal Ferree, Janet Flynn, Pamela Laughter and Wanda Thompson.

There was also a 15-Year Service Award. This award went to Susie Dotson.

Receiving a 20-Year Award this year were Lou Gilbert, Cathy Grindrod and Janet Hoover.

Johnnie Mae Booker, from the Environmental Services Department, received a service award for working at St. Lukes Hospital for 45 years.

A wonderful meal catered by The Drake House and inspiring comments from board member Clark Benson made this an afternoon to remember. Benson expressed appreciation on behalf of the Board of Trustees for their dedication to St. Lukes Hospital.

Yes, time flies. Technology improves and services change, but the people who give their hearts and souls have helped make St. Lukes Hospital such an outstanding place to work and care for our community.

St. Lukes Hospital is fortunate for the commitment and compassion of our employees, whether theyve been here 45 years or six months. They are the heart and soul of St. Lukes Hospital, and they are dedicated to providing exceptional care, close to home.
