The Spartanburg Youth! Theatre announces auditions for its third production of the 2009-2010 season, The Princess & the Pea.

The auditions will take place in the Youth Theatre room at the Chapman Cultural Center on Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Children in grades three through 12 are welcome to audition for the play, while children in grades seven through 12 are invited to sign-up to work backstage.

The play, which will be directed by Betsy Kneisley, is a contemporary version of the classic fairy tale. Princess Astrid spiritedly takes a series of tests to prove that she is a real princess.

The show features a large cast with roles available for both boys and girls.

Public performances will take place at 4:30 and 7 p.m. on Friday, February 12 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13.
