On Saturday, November 21, artists Ann Gleason and Cynthia Link will hold their annual sale of handmade pottery and jewelry at the Harmon Field log cabin.

Ann Gleason has been a studio potter making functional stoneware pots for over 30 years. Shes an active member in the Southern Highland Craft Guild. She also teaches ceramics for the Visual Arts program at Greenville Technical College and holds special workshops at many art centers and schools.

Gleason says, I first put my hadns in clay in the early 70s while in college and knew I was hooked. Though I am doing more sculptural work these days, I still love to make casseroles, mugs and functional pots as well. Skillfully made pots really add a dimension of warmth and beauty to whatever purpose they are used for, whether as that special holiday platter or your morning cup of coffee.

Cynthia Link makes functional pottery as well as silver jewelry. She taught art in the public school system until retirement, but never stopped making her own work as well. Now she works all the time making clay bird houses, baking dishes and her tall cat sculptures.

Both artists will be at the cabin Saturday. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
